Costa Blanca offers hotel deals for 2012 through 2013 & cheap hotels in Benidorm

Big discounts are available on hotels throughout the Costa Blanca. Benidorm offers the best deals from self catering to all inclusive. Up to 44% off on Quickrooms.com

Costa Blanca is on the eastern coast of Spain, from Torrevieja  in the south to just below Valencia in the north.  It includes the towns and cities of  Benidorm, Javea, Calpe, Denia, Alicante and many more. It has a wonderful warm sunny climate and caters for everyone, from the kids on the family holiday to the older generation looking for an all inclusive break in the sun. With good all year weather, it is an excellent choice for a winter break.

It is an area of many contrasts, from the beautiful, but busy, Mar Menor with it’s upmarket resorts such as La Manga offering all the luxury and style you can ask for, to the quiet fishing villages of the northern Costa Blanca.  All along the coast there are wonderful little towns and villages offering a view of real Spanish life as well as great beaches and wonderful scenery.  Then there are the very popular areas of Benidorm, where the holiday maker can find every level of accommodation, from five star to all inclusive as well as night life that really does go on all night. So you will be spoilt for choice, with excellent self catering properties, superb good value hotels and lots of active resorts as well as very quiet, laid back destinations.  Have a good look around and you will find just what you are looking for, be it a budget family break with the kids or a lively, out on the town clubbing vacation with your friends!

The Mar Menor has an inland sea, wonderful views and an upmarket, quality feel with good shopping and some top class hotels. Torrevieja is a well known holiday resort, offering every level of accommodation and price. The old town is great for a meal and an evening stroll.  The beaches are excellent, with lots of family facilities as well.

The main city on the Costa Blanca is Alicante with a good choice of quality hotels, a lovely harbour and lots of shopping chances!  It is a busy city, but there are little squares, particularly by the harbour for a quiet coffee or drink.

On up the coast you will find the area around Benidorm. If you want a little less frantic activity than Benidorm itself, consider Calpe, a beautiful, up market resort with easy access to all the fun, but not right on the doorstep!  Benidorm itself offers a great location for a family holiday as well as the well known nightlife.  Just choose the part of the town carefully and you can have everything a family based holiday needs and the prices are very competitive.  The main beaches are fabulous with lots of family and kids based activities as well as good watersports facilities.

Further up the coast is the upmarket resort of Javea, the old town retains the atmosphere of a Spanish village and the Arenal beach is a horseshoe of white sands, backed by restaurants, cafes and bars.

Then the villages get more strung out along the coast, just the place to find a quiet cove, small hotel and local cuisine to try.  A world away from the hustle and bustle of Benidorm, the towns of Denia, Oliva and Gandia are very popular for a laid back holiday with a strong Spanish flavour.

One of Spain’s most famous Costas, the Costa Blanca is both everything you thought it was, sunny with long sandy beaches and great nightlife as well as many things you might not imagine, quiet sleepy villages, great local food and inexpensive family run hotels. Whichever aspect you explore, you will find a really warm friendly welcome, excellent value for money and the terrific sunshine !

Mazarron

Mazarron is a pretty Spanish village at the northern tip of the Costa Almeria. It sits in a wide bay, with the Almenara Mountains behind and a great beach in front of the town, with lots of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants behind the beach on the promenade. Mazarron, the town itself is set a little way from the sea, Puerto Mazarron is the port, you have the choice of sea side or town to stay in, and can of course easily stay in town but spend your days on the beach!  It would be useful to have a hire car here, they are not expensive and also act as transport from the airport of Murcia, about an hour away, or Alicante, which is about two hours travelling time.  Mazarron is ideal for a relaxing, quieter holiday, away from all the traffic and noise of some of the southern Costas. There is plenty to do, the marina has 200 berths, spend a while watching the comings and goings with a coffee or a beer.  There are some great hotels too, some small, tucked away in the winding lanes of the town and some with all the amenities close to the beach.  Whilst this is a small resort, there is more than enough choice so you can find the perfect place to stay.

The coastal area of Mazarron is washed by the warm Mediterranean and has some super beaches. There are over thirty beaches in the area and the bay has an underwater garden of important sea fauna, providing refuge for dolphins, whales and octopi.  In front of the Playa de la Isla, there are two underwater treasures, Phoenician boats which have been found and are being excavated. There is a small museum to explain the finds and these two boats are the only ones of their kind in the world.

In the old part of town you can find a lot of historical and artistic items, from the town hall and the beautiful casino to the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus which can be found on Santa Catalina Mountain.  There are also three towers, built in Islamic times, the Horse tower, the Summit tower and the Windmill tower.

There are a number of great beaches so make your choice, Mazarron has around 20 miles of coastline with both long sandy beaches and small coves. Playa del Casteller, Playa de Bahia and Playa de Nares have all been awarded a European Blue Flag. There are small coves for a quiet picnic lunch or go seek out the bigger beaches with all the amenities, cafes, beach bars and restaurants.

If you want to spend some time exploring, about 25 miles inland is the fort of Aledo on a rocky pinnacle, with it’s small village which seems almost medieval.
The fort was built by the Muslims to control the access to the valley.  The Tower of Homage is built into the ancient walls, it is thought that Alfonso X wrote his famous documents here. The village is in a beautiful spot close to the pine forests which cling to the mountainsides. It’s ideal for walkers, hikers and anyone who enjoys the views, the wildlife and the clear air of the Sierras.   Or you can drive south down the coast with great views, little villages with small beaches and coves, ideal for sunbathing and lunch!  Or go inland to Lorca, to see how the rebuilding is progressing after the earthquake of 2011.  The castle is a great place to visit and the walled town has plenty to interest you as well.

Mazarron is perfect as a base for exploring this little known part of Spain, the weather is perfect, with long sunny days and warm winters and so you can plan your perfect get away.
